Achievement points, cake, and geek references all in one. Who wouldn’t want this achievement?
At first glance, your task to bake a declicious chocolate cake may sound simple. If you’re lucky enough to own the recipe then it very well may be, but if not you’re going to have to rely on motivation to do dailies, a bit of luck, and most likely a lot of chilled meat.
The Recipe
The chocolate cake recipe is a reward given for completion of a cooking daily quest. It’s quite a rare reward, however, so be prepared to daily your little socks off for at least a while. The good news is that it can be rewarded from the old level 70 dailies as well as the newer level 80 ones. This means you can double your chances if you can muster up the will to visit both The Rokk in Shattrath and, depending on your faction, either Katherine Lee or Awilo Lon’gomba in Dalaran. Note: You will need to be at least level 70 and have at least 275 cooking skill to complete quests from The Rokk, so make sure you have both of those. Check? Ok.
Upon completion of a cooking daily you’ll be rewarded with a bag, crate, or other mysterious container. Cross your fingers, pray to the your deity of choice, and just maybe you’ll hit lucky and get your recipe. If not, throw some baby spice at an innocent bystander to vent your rage.
The Cake
Once you’ve got your sticky fingers on the recipe the mats themselves are relatively straightforward. You will need the following:
• Simple Flour (8)
• Ice Cold Milk (4)
• Mild Spices (4)
• Small Egg (8)
• Flask of Port
• Mageroyal (3)
You can buy the port in a good few places, though only one vendor in Dalaran which is most likely where you’re standing staring gormlessly at a barmaid and wondering where she keeps it.
Cook the cake, and you get the achievement. Eat the cake, and it will make you very happy indeed.

I got that recipe second daily I did is it rare? I got the pet from fishing daily the first time ever aswell I thought it was a given but I got told its random? even though three others have all received it first daily.
The recipe is still pretty rare yes, you’re what’s technically known in the trade as “a jammy bugger”.
As for the pet, if you mean from the Crocolisks in the City quest then that one did get buffed, that used to take a bit of patience too.
I was taking my pally to shattrah and doing the cooking daily there every day for months trying to get this recepie. Got it today from dalaran cooking daily lol. Didnt know it could drop from either.
I levelled up cooking a long time ago and spent a long time as ‘guild cook’. Then the achievements came along and so did WotLK – but the recipe did not! I have done hundreds of cooking quests and only very recently got the drop. I am so miffed that I have not bothered to use the Chef title it finally gave me :/
The first cake I made I gave to the Littlelegs of Pimp my Raid. This was when achievements just came out. She didnt tell me if it tasted nice tho, but it was a bugger to farm for.
Well, have to come here and say RAWRRRR working on my cooking achievements, just finished MY FIRST DAILY in Shatt and I got the recipe!!!
