Hello and welcome to another Crap Name of the Week! I’ve trawled my archive of screenshots for another genius and unearthed this…
Crap Name of the Week #4
ddreamers.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/cnotw_magicdk.jpg”>
This week’s offering illustrates two problems; the use
of the letters “dk” at the end of names, and the use of the letters “dk” at the end of names of non-DKs.
Death Knights are of course commonplace now. Many of us know players who primarily play this class. Some people even like these players on a personal level. It’s just not as easy to automatically, irrationally hate those people as it was is the initial deluge of Pwnlulzdks and Irapeallyoosdks after the class’ introduction.
Fortunately, for those fuelled by an uncommon rage, there does seem to have been a spate of “-dk” naming for non-Death Knights. One common factor is that the word or words preceding
the “dk” are almost invariably crap, especially in combination with this suffix.
Magicdk here, was a priest. Priests use a form of magic, but sourced from the shadow or the light. Magic is primarily associated with … mages, with the arcane. So even the first part of this name is inappropriate for this character. A double-hitter!
Perhaps it’s
a joke – not a good joke, of course. Either way, representing a whole class of terrible people, Magicdk – welcome to the gallery of twats.

Maybe they just couldn’t fit in all the letters. There’s definitely an ‘ic’ missing near the end there…
dk was a name suffix long before death knights were in the game, generally denoting their allegiance to Denmark. Not saying it’s a good name, just that the “dk” seems to get misconstrued.
Ooh I didn’t know that! It’s long been a mystery to me :p
I think this crap name thing has run its course.
Admittedly I do like the phrase “gallery of twats” – new feature name perhaps?
I don’t get this, your ripping this person for having magicdk, yet you don’t even know what the DK means… im guessing it means Denmark like a fair few of the DK’s I’ve seeen (sorta making yourself look like more of a tard about your rant about death knights tbh Also a little racist) And magic, what don’t priests use magic now? magic is not just arcane or mages, Arcane is a School of magic ie one section of it, just like shadow and just like holy its still all magic. Or are you trying to imply frost or fire mages do not use magic?.
Gotta admit this “Crap name of the week” Really should be renamed “crap blog post of the week” or maybe just “crap choice of crap name of the week”? no… well nm.
Plenty of other names out there that are worse, you failed bad on this. Even more so with the stupid un-educated rant underneath.
.-= Anakes´s last blog ..Achieve this: Exalted, the Ashen Verdict =-.
I love this crap name of the week but this one was poor (spell cast = magic) (DK = Denmark), there is a DK running around called déáthkníght and seen someone called xxarthazxx these are the crap names we should be making fun of.
Maybe a new post aswell though for great name of the week, there is a few contenders out there
