Our Survey Says: To buy or not to buy?

Buying gold is in most peoples minds akin to treason against friends, against your community, and least importantly, usually against the End User License Agreement that you failed to read before clicking OK.

It is regarded as debilitating to the WoW economy and more so to our gaming experience leading to hacking, botting and all manner of nasties.

BUT If there wasn’t a market for gold, there wouldn’t be an economy to worry about. For every ten guys who swear they would never buy gold I’m pretty sure we could find nine Pay Pal accounts that will tell you differently.

We know that this subject causes flustered tempers and the united sound of fists banging on tables me thinks that the community doth protest too much sometimes.

So, and for the sake of curiosity (and please remember that this poll is confidential) come clean about your gold buying or lack of gold buying activities!

Have you or would you buy gold?

Its just plain silly spending real money for “fake” money. Would rather spend my money on more important albeit unhealthy things like wine and cigarettes!

but hey whatever floats the gold buyer’s boat, not going to judge them.

I have bought gold once on my very first hunter char.
Bought a nice new purple melee weapon with it that I used all the time.
Took me a while before I realised the ‘Hey nice weapon’ comments were meant sarcasticly.

Not to sound like a Blizzard fanboy but, really, they put it best:

‘Players who buy gold are supporting spamming, botting and keylogging – activities that diminish the gameplay experience for everyone else.’

    ’nuff said.

In the bad old days, when it cost more gold to raid than you looted and you had to farm stuff just to keep going, when there were no dailies – hell, almostno quests left to do! – I thought about buying gold. Back then, there wasn’t even gold seller spam.

But now, you don’t really need… plus the gold sellers are constantly trying to rip you off in game (stealing accounts, raiding guild banks) , so you can safely assume they will rip you off if they think they can get away with it in the real world.

not a lot of point buying gold really. Maybe you can buy some neat piece of gear for it, but that gear will most likely be replaced soon enough with a drop.

also doing AT daily’s and cooking gest about 250 gold for 15-20 mins work.
