“Casual raiders, hardcore fishermen”
Who We Are
At our core, we’re a group of real life friends and the excellent people we’ve found in game. Our ages range from 13 to 40+, we have parents, couples and single folk, men and women, and even some Welsh people. Some of us might get a bit hardcore about rep grinding on occasion *looks at herself in disgust* but we mostly accept that real life > WoW and have a few members with very limited playing time.
Our atmosphere is friendly, and while we’re not the biggest guild around we do have nice lively guild chat on an evening and usually a couple of people on in the afternoon/stupid o’clock in the morning too.
As much as the phrase “any level or class” may strike fear into the hearts of those looking for a halfway decent guild, in this case it’s true. Yes we raid, and yes a lot of our core members are already 80, but there are plenty of alts and lowbies to keep anyone company. It’s the personality that matters to us, and if you’ve got that you could be level 1 and still be figuring out which button makes you sit down for all we care.
We’re very newbie friendly (mostly because I’m obsessed with helping them) and will take players with any level of experience. Nobody will make you feel bad for asking “silly” questions, unless you’re Villen who really should know better by now.
What We Offer
PvE
We raid a couple of nights a week, in Ulduar/TotC with emphasis on fun rather than loot. Everyone is expected to do their research and come prepared but we don’t get too stroppy about it if we die. We also try to fit in Naxx etc for the newer 80s whenever a free night comes up. While most of our raids are 10-man, we have been known to foray into 25-man things occasionally with a friend’s guild.
We also organise regular retro raids for those of you who may miss or have never seen the vanilla/TBC raids.
PvP
The guild 5v5, Confused & Aroused, is looking for a couple more members so we can be flexible about what nights we play. There has recently been an explosion of 2v2 and 3v3 teams within the guild too, prompting a guild arena tournament (complete with prizes at the end of each season). You’ll find a few of us working haphazardly towards that distant and glorious Battlemaster title, and certain of us are often to be found bullying the rest into fighting valiantly for possession of Wintergrasp…even when we’re not planning to run VoA.
Progression within the guild
Our most active/loyal/trusted/generally brilliant members gain promotion and perks such as more access to the guild bank and generally not having to get officers to do everything for them as well as the awe of their fellow guildies and the air of superiority that comes from being “in the boss’ good books”.
A helpful atmosphere
Whether you’re a total WoW newbie or an inexperienced 80 we’ll never make you feel bad about not knowing something. Think about it, if we train you up we can guilt trip you into coming to heroics with us later down the line…it’s win/win!
What We Want
Be friendly
There’s no point joining a guild whose members you have no intention of getting to know
Be active
What better way to get to know us than to run a few instances or whatever tickles your pickle? We also encourage everyone to use the guild website and forum.
Be mature
We have no minimum age limit for membership, as we’ve found from past experience that people of all ages can end up acting like whiny bratlings. Don’t, and all will be well.
Be helpful
Our members help each other, be it with advice or help with quests or instances. That is after all one of the main advantages of a guild.
Note: If you wish to raid with us there are of course certain expectations. You will need to sign up to raids, and turn up on time with the required consumables. You will also need to at least listen in on Ventrilo, even if you’d rather not talk. Yes it’s casual raiding, that’s no excuse not to do it properly.
